Formerly Woodstock Area Meals on Wheels
Hot, nutritious meals delivered to our homebound neighbors in and around Woodstock, New York.

A Dream That’s Been Cooking for Years
Woodstock Meals (formerly Woodstock Area Meals on Wheels) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit based in the heart of Woodstock, New York. Founded in 1975, we’re a grassroots organization powered by more than 70 volunteer cooks, kitchen helpers, bakers, drivers, and administrators who generously donate their time and talents for the good of our community.
Our mission is to provide fresh, homemade, hot, delicious meals five days a week to homebound people in and around Woodstock who are unable to drive, shop, or cook for themselves. We think of ourselves as more than just meal delivery. We maintain relationships with all of our clients, and feel that we’re part of a very sweet, very loving community of people who care about our neighbors’ well-being.
Questions & Answers
Where are you located?
We operate out of a rented kitchen at the Woodstock Reformed Church in the center of town, at 16 Tinker Street in Woodstock, New York. We’re certified annually by the New York Health Department.
What area do you serve?
Currently we deliver meals to most addresses in Woodstock, West Hurley, Willow, Shady, Lake Hill, Bearsville, Mt. Tremper, and Phoenicia.
What days do you deliver?
We prepare and deliver meals Monday through Friday, including holidays. The only time we close is when Onteora School District is closed due to inclement weather. This is for the safety of our drivers.
Do I have to get five meals a week?
Nope. You can get as few as one meal a week if that suits your needs.
Who qualifies for meals?
Anyone who is unable to drive, shop, or cook for themselves. Most of our clients are elderly, but we also accept clients who are temporarily homebound following a surgery or hospital stay.
How much do meals cost?
Our current per-meal fee is $8. The meals cost us about $10, so we lose money on every meal. But that’s okay. Our goal is not to turn a profit but to break even. We do a local fundraiser each year to replenish our bank account.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
If you need a gluten-free, salt-free, or other specialized meal due to food allergies or medical restrictions, we’re not a good fit for you. Our cooks are not dieticians; most of them are former caterers. We offer no-beef and no-pork meal options. Because our meals are made fresh each morning in the course of about 2½ hours, it’s just not possible to make one-of-a-kind meals for each client.
Who can answer more questions?
We’re here to help. Call (845)679-4656 and leave a message if no one is in the kitchen. Someone from our team will get back to you quickly. Or email us at woodstockmeals@gmail.com.
